A hands-on way for young learners to explore the American flag while building a book of their very own!

The American Flag and What It Means is a printable tabbed flip book designed for students in Grades K–3. The finished book includes seven easy-to-find tabs covering Our Flag, The Stars, The Stripes, Red, White, Blue, and The Pledge.

Each section introduces one focused idea using short, age-appropriate sentences followed by two comprehension questions with space for students to write their answers. Students learn about the stars and stripes, explore the meaning associated with the flag’s colors, and practice ways to show respect for the American flag.

The unique graduated design creates tabs that step down the front of the finished book, making it easy for young students to find each section. Reading pages are paired with supporting illustrations to help reinforce what students are learning.

Three print options are included:

Full Color – Illustrations are fully colored and ready to use.
Color – A lighter-ink option with portions of the illustrations left open for students to color.
People in Color – People and key elements remain colored while much of the surrounding scene is left for students to complete.
